The More We Tell; The More You Sell...

And the sooner you book your space at Recreation Expo, the sooner we can start to promote your products and services to your target audience!!

A comprehensive and targeted marketing campaign has been implemented to ensure the success of this event. Media partners will include reputable print and radio networks; supported by promotions in industry specific magazines and websites, online email campaigns, outdoor signage, social networking websites, posters, flyers and grass-roots marketing initiatives. Marketing for this event commence in June 2010 and will build to a concentrated campaign during August and September 2010.

More FM, The Press and What Now are supporting the expo to ensure that event messaging reaches a diverse and potentially new audience

The Press: Escape– Negotiations are currently in place for a 4 page article in The Press Escape section as well as a comprehensive campaign commencing threeweeks prior to the event. The advertising schedule will be confirmed once these negotiations are complete.

MoreFM were a key stakeholder in the inaugural Recreation Expo, as sponsors of the Ultimate Recreation Prize Draw. There is an excellent synergy between their listenership and the Expo target audience; which will see this relationship continue into 2010.

What Now– the kids TV show What Now will broadcast live from their studio in Christchurch on Sunday 19th September about the Recreation Expo. Main focus will be the Britz Rock Climbing Wall and other fun related activities for kids.

In addition to this, campaigns will be undertaken with other print and radio media to increase the promotional reach for 2010.

Recreation Expo Ltd has established strong partnerships with the industry to ensure that event messaging reaches a qualified audience of confirmed outdoor enthusiasts.

In 2009 the following organisations played an integral role in the promotion of Recreation Expo directly to their database of members and via the mainstream publications they produce. Recreation Expo is proud to have them on board again in 2010:

Web-Based Promotion

www.recreationexpo.co.nz - The event website is the the main portal for web-based promotion; with all marketing material listing the website as the 'Call To Action'.

Sponsors and exhibitors in 2009 received extensive promotion via the website, this included: logos, links, bios, listings of specials, seminars, prizes and on-stand activities plus the opportunity to feature in the Expo e-newsletter. In 2010 with this new-look, dedicated website Sponsors and Exhibitors will experience a greater level of exposure.

www.facebook.com - The Expo will utilise the social marketing website Facebook to reach broad audience via a series of blogs, forums and video clips.

www.eventfinder.co.nz - The Expo will be promoted via this national event markeitng website. Which in turns enables a listing on the AA Travel website, Yahoo Events website, MSN Events website, stuff.co.nz Events website and others.

www.bethere.co.nz - The Christchurch City Council event promotion website will be utilised to ensure that timely reminders are sent to their extensive database of subscribers.

In addition to these dedicated web-based promotions, the event will be listed on dozens of industry specific websites with a link back to the event website.

Get Out There... Recreation Expo E-Newsletter

A monthly e-newsletter will be sent to the Recreation Expo database building to a weekly send-out from August onwards.

Posters & Flyers

Posters & Flyers will be displayed at exhibitor retail outlets shops and distributed to Christchurch cafes, office blocks, libraries, sporting clubs, recreational facilities, universities, CPIT, Red Bus, City Shuttles... from August on.

Outdoor Signage

Approximately 80 outdoor signs placed at key recreational areas and main roads around Christchurch from two to three weeks prior to the event, this will direct people to the event itself and its website for more information.

More FM provide an A frame billboard trailer for 6 weeks from August 16th until September 27th 2010. One side of the billboard will be used for the Recreation Expo. The trailer will be placed in highly frequented places in and around Christchurch.

Active Canterbury Sport & Recreation Guide

Produced by Christchurch City Council, over 40,000 copies of this publication are distributed to sporting clubs, libraries and recreational centres. The event is promoted in the current edition with a full-page-advertisement in the middle of the brochure at the back of the detachable map & location guide.

School Holidays Programmes

An invitation to attend the event will be sent to all schools in Christchurch, encouraging them to promote the event in their school holidays programmes as well as in their e-newsletter, to push the attendance of families and that under 12yrs can come for free - the expo is held on the first weekend of September school holidays.
