This purpose-built recreational facility is ideal for exhibitions; offering a combination of indoor and outdoor display space, high ceiling clearance and easy access for load in and out!

The main stadium at Pioneer Leisure Centre consist of three basketball courts; this is the area used to house the indoor displays and will be the hub of the Expo. A First-Aid room and Exhibitor Lounge are also located on the ground floor, while the upper viewing gallery will be the location for a Kid's Activity Centre.

The outdoor display space will occupy a combination of sealed car park and a grass section of Centennial Park. Access will be via doors at the side of the main Stadium thus ensuring good flow between the two zones.

Location

Pioneer Leisure Centre is located at 75 Lyttelton St, just 15-minutes from the Christchurch CBD in the suburb of Spreydon.

Parking

Parking at Recreation Expo is FREE and includes use of the main venue carpark plus additional parking will be provided on the grass at Centennial Park (weather permitting); with access directly off Lyttelton St.

In addition, the suburban streets surrounding the venue significantly increase parking options for visitors.

Public Transport

Pioneer Leisure Centre is serviced by the green Orbiter Bus and the No. 20 - Burnside to Barrington Bus,  which both stop directly outside the venue on Lyttelton St.
